International Students interested in participating in the Program of Clinical Clerkeships or Medical Internships at UDD´s School of Medicine, will have the opportunity to join the department's work team of one the specialties offered below:
Clinical Rotations
This program seeks to deepen the knowledge to train a general practitioner, with the theoretical bases and skills that will allow them to deliver high quality care to patients. In addition, it aims to be a complement to help interns improve their clinical and technical competence in different areas and specialties. This program is aimed at students of 5th, 6th and 7th year of Medicine, it lasts between 4 to 6 weeks and the period is between March and December.
REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM:
- Apply 4-6 months before the rotation period
- Complete the online form with the required information and documents attached correctly
- Have a 5.0 as a minimum grade average to apply (Chilean grade scale: 1 to 7)
- The academic record must include the scale of grades of your home university
- They must bring their apron and uniform (Scrubs)
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Students interested in applying must meet the requirements and must complete the online form with the following documents attached:
- Academic record with grade scale included
- Letter of recommendation from your Medical School
- Copy of passport (first page)
- Proof copy Hepatitis A and B vaccine
NEXT STEPS OF THE PROGRAM:
- Once we receive the online application form, it will be sent to the Medical Faculty for approval (estimated response time: 3 weeks)
- If your application is approved, you will be notified by email of available dates and specialties.
- The applicant has a maximum of 2 weeks after receiving the mail, to answer and accept the dates and specialties designated.
- Subsequently, a digital copy of your acceptance letter will be sent, a document with which you can start the process to obtain the student visa.
Elective Internships
The program seeks to deepen the knowledge to train a general practitioner, with the theoretical bases and skills that will allow him to deliver high quality care to patients. In addition, it aims to be a complement that helps the intern improve their clinical and technical competence in the different areas of the specialties. This program is aimed at 6th and 7th year students of Medicine and lasts for 12 weeks.
REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM:
- Apply 4-6 months before the internship period
- Complete the online form with the required information and documents attached correctly
- Have a 5.0 as a minimum grade average to apply (Chilean grade scale: 1 to 7)
- The academic record must include the scale of grades of your home university
- They must bring their apron and uniform (Scrubs)
