International students at UDD have the opportunity to earn the Global Engagement Minor, a certificate that recognizes their global competencies.
To obtain this certification, you must complete the following requirements:
Pass the Global Competencies course in either English (5 UDD credits) or Spanish (4 UDD credits).
Participate in an approved international activity during our International Week (such as the International Fair, International Project, or Cultural Project). Activities must be approved by the Globalization Team. If you want to apply your activity, you can enroll in the next link.
Complete a full academic course load at UDD, equivalent to at least 36 UDD credits.
MINOR IN SOCIAL CHANGE FOR IMPACT
Also, students at UDD have the oportunity to complete the Minor in Social Change for Impact, an academic program to develop innovative projects that adress contemporary social problems. Students work with Social Responsibility, Entrepreneurship, and a Chilean non-profit organization.
To earn this minor, you must pass the following courses:
Understanding The Chilean Social Context (10 UDD credits): This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Chilean social context, it’s main structural challenges, the existing institutional ecosystem, the strategies implemented to address social issues, and the country’s future challenges. Through real-case analysis, applied work, and experiential learning, students will develop a critical and comparative perspective on social development in Chile.
Social Entrepreneurship (10 UDD credits): To increase student understanding of the social entrepreneurship concept and to apply their knowledge in a hands-on process, for building a sustainable business model around a social problem. Also, develop the ability to design and iterate a business model based on customer feedback.
Community Engagement Project (10 UDD credits): Elective course that provides tools to co-design and execute social impact initiatives with already allied organizations. Students work directly with foundations on priority Chilean issues(education, inequality, public health). Public Responsibility Track develops competencies for effective collaboration with NGOs and execution of real social projects.
