DESCRIPTION
During this COIL experience, students from UDD’s Dentistry program and their foreign peers from UniValle worked together in order to understand and compare the difference between Chile and Colombia when it comes to certain areas: clinical protocols, use of dental material in surgeries and prosthesis depending on the brand and indication, cavities prevalecence, preventive treatments and access to health services. Risk factors for cavities were also revised depending on the culture, food, costumes and lifestyle.
As a result, students got to know different realities when it comes to oral health and broaden their knowledge regarding dental materials, protocols and preventive treatments.
